Spoon River Middle School: 12

Victor Byle

Free Writing

I hate this,
really, really, really hate this.
I hate writing,
really, really, really hate writing.
I hate poems,
really, really, really hate poems.
I hate school,
really, really, really hate school.
But now I have exactly fifty words,
which is how long this dumb thing is supposed to be.

  1. Oh, I think I wrote that one once, too. But to my mother who read poems aloud to us. And then it evolved to
"I think I am going to throw up. Wanna throw up, too? Then there's a pair of us . . . Don't tell!"

Ah, to be read poetry when you hate it. Bad things happen to you! And your mind.
